1 Studying the distance learning MBA meant that I had the best of both worlds; unlike other management courses I’ve attended, I was able to carry on working throughout, and at the end the programme. I had my MBA and I hadn’t interrupted my career. In my job, my ideas and proposals for long-term strategy seem to be getting noticed more since competing the MBA

2 I’d had a wide variety of jobs an I found that I could draw on this experience to do very well in my MBA. I started with Certificate, then continued to the Diploma in Management. I was hooked. My job had become more responsible, adn the courses had helped me a lot. Doing MBA seemed like a natural next step in the further development of my career.

3 I embarked upon the MBA programme because I wanted to improve my management skills to help me in my current job. Apart from a very short course during my MSc., I had no formal management training prior to starting the course. Of course, studying whilst working does require some sacrifices plus good time management, but for me, the advantages gained by completing the programme far outweigh any downsides.

4 In my role as Maintenance Manager for a Housing Association, I manage a team of thirteen people from various backgrounds, from gardeners to chartered surveyors. Having completed the Management Diploma and nearly 50% of the MBA, I already have a greater ability to manage, motivate and communicate with my team. It has also given me a greater insight into my role as both a manager and leader.
